Location: Richland County, Ohio

Services Provided:

  • Construction Administration
  • Construction Inspection

KEM provided construction administration and inspection services for 2.51 miles of resurfacing on Lexington Springmill Road from 4th St. to SR 39 in Richland County. This $1,500,000 Local Let project included the rehabilitation of four and five lane concrete pavement with a two-course asphalt overlay. The project also included construction of sidewalks and curb ramps through the commercial areas. The very high traffic volumes (17,000 ADT) required the construction work be performed at night to avoid additional traffic congestion. Construction began in late July 2004 and was completed by November 2004.

KEM provided daily construction inspection services to assure compliance with the plans and specifications. KEM inspectors have vast experience with ODOT specifications and contract requirements. Written logs of the project activity and verification of completed quantities were performed on a daily basis. Pay requests were reviewed and approved in the field prior to submittal for payment.

KEM also conducted monthly progress meetings, coordinated utility relocation activity, approved material submittals, and ensured the project was completed on time and within the allocated budget.
