Description:
KEM completed a study of the entire Village of Lucas potable water distribution system from which a list of recommendations was developed to improve operating pressures, flow capacities, and fire flows throughout the Village. It was also imperative to come up with a plan to service the new high school, which is currently under the planning stages and will be located on the northeast edge of the Village. KEM was authorized to proceed with the initial phase of the improvements which included the installation of 7,600 feet of new 8" water main, along with 14 new hydrants and the replacement of 540 feet of aging 2" lines with 6" water main. KEM services included the preparation of construction plans, bid documents, easements, and grant applications. KEM is also providing construction administration and observation, and as built drawings.
