KEM was hired by the Lorain County Sanitary Engineering department to examine the options for extending sanitary sewer service along Snell Road and Boone Road, located in Columbia Township, to serve multiple planned and future developments within the township. It was ultimately determined to construct a new pump station near the intersection of Snell and Boone Road and pump the flows to the existing Marks Road trunk sewer. The project included the installation of 3,800 linear feet of 27” diameter sanitary trunk sewer; a pump station rated at 2,000 gpm to handle all flows projected over the next 20 years, with the ability to be upsized if growth extends beyond that; and over 5,000 linear feet of 12-inch force main. Construction was completed at the beginning of 2022.
