Fall 2024 – Employee Spotlight
Employee Spotlight – Kenton Garwood
This quarter’s employee spotlight is Kenton Garwood. Kenton manages KEM’s field work pertaining to CCTV, smoke testing, flow monitoring and mapping of sanitary and storm sewers. He started in August of 2023 and stated that, since then, this position has allowed him to further develop his professional skills by adding Certified Pipeline and Manhole Inspector to a list that already included certificates in Chemical Application, Indoor Pest Inspection, Outdoor Adventure Guiding, and Pool Operation. “Being the company safety officer has made me more safety conscious as I am now responsible for the wellbeing of not just myself, but others as well.”
When asked what his favorite project to work on has been, Kenton said, “I really enjoy the projects where we are smoke testing sewers. The process is so efficient, and a tremendous amount of information can be obtained very quickly.” He doesn’t need much motivation to get up for work every day as he makes it his goal to beat the deer to the woods, the fish to the water, and the sun to the earth each morning. One thing most people might not know about Kenton is that he is an avid outdoorsman who loves everything from hunting and fishing to hiking and camping. He is also in the middle of his third house remodel, which happens to be his childhood home. Oh, and he wanted everyone to know that he is “the best at being humble. The absolute BEST.” Kenton is a great addition to the KEM team, and we love having him as part of the family!
