The KEM staff takes pride in developing active transportation projects that meet each community’s needs. We fully understand how important it is to have bike and pedestrian paths that enhance the environment and promote healthy living for local residents. Another component of active transportation is the SRTS program that promotes children walking and biking to and from school safely. KEM makes it a priority to clearly communicate with the public on active transportation projects. This helps in two ways: residents get a clear picture of the improvements, and KEM designers receive valuable feedback so the project matches expectations, which ultimately results in more people getting active.
