KEM was selected by ODOT to complete design services for improvements to the US Route 250 and Strub Road intersection, just south of Sandusky. This $1,700,000 project was identified as a safety improvement project to realign the offset intersection and reconfigure the turn lanes. KEM’s services included preliminary engineering, field survey, final design, and right-of-way plans. The improvements included roadway widening, sidewalks, a new traffic signal, and elimination/reconfiguration of drives for access management. KEM worked closely with ODOT to reduce right-of-way and utility impacts in this highly commercialized and developed area by developing multiple alternatives and adjusting designs around potential conflicts.
